Détails de l'observation
Eurasion wigeon. Associated with american widgeons but usual not closely pair with one. Very read head with tan on the top of the head. noticeably smaller than the American Widgeons. Head slightly different shape than american wigeons, I would call it rounder. The feathers are a bit mixed up in the midsection. There are many feathers that are white with narrow stripes don't seem to quite fit in place yet, but there is hint and the sort of pinstripe look of the alternate plumage. This duck for the second time this week remained as far to the other side as possible. Still not hard to spot with the grayish sides, reddish head, smaller size, and it was the only wigeon that I saw feeding on the green floating plants using a side to side motion. That's not to say that the others don't also do it, just that on this day it was the only duck doing this. Probably it was just feeding, and the others weren't.
