Head: Dark reddish-brown (Chestnut brown)—its most distinctive feature. Throat: Golden yellow, with a black gorget line running down its sides. Breast & Belly: A mix of green and light green. Wings: Green on top and bluish-green on the underside; shiny in flight. Tail: Light blue, with the two middle feathers long and pointed. Eyes: Red. Beak: Long, curved, and black—suitable for catching insects.
