Great find earlier today by Sochetra Ly. Special thanks to Kyle for alerting us. We and many other birders watched the bird extensively as it foraged actively on the sand flats. It stayed near to the ground foraging, running, flying, with only brief pauses to perch on the ground or on low vegetation. Its distinctive plumage pattern is not likely to be confused with any of the expected species. Buffy edges to wing coverts and lack of wing contrast indicate juvenal plumage. Many photos.
