Then, an ascending whistle; another ditto; then calls and a flight sound; then more calls, and flight sounds. Quality: 2+ (1-2). Level: +3. [note on page next to, but not attached to, data sheet] Penelope granti *types of sound*...19/11/66 PAS 1) Repeated calls with an element of excitement. (May correspond to 2 + 3a but sequence too short to tell. Should compare this with Cuts 3 and 6 of purpurascens. 2) Hoarse calls ~ regularly repeated. Compare 2a in Cuts 10 of purpurascens. Also compare with Cut 8 that species. Also these are somewhat similar to the "croak calls" of marail and may be the counterpart. Whines.
