Discovered a few minutes earlier by Adam Chambers who saw it in flight and then heard it "singing" from the cattails about 25 feet alway. When I arrived, I heard it almost continuously for the 15 minutes or so that I was there. The Merlin app did not identify the songs although I could clearly hear them on the recordings. The location of the songs, coming from cattails, rules out any possibility of Black-billed Cuckoo. To my knowledge, this is the 3rd record for Grand Forks County in the last 50 years.
