Détails de l'observation
This skua was discovered approximately 2-3 miles northeast of Chatham Harbor. It was in attendance with a mixed feeding group of COSHs and COTEs. Visibility was in question during observation. However, a few marginal photos were obtained by myself and Bill Thompson. Based on brief field views and photo review, my impression is this is probably a South Polar Skua. Seems to show a general lanky build, small head and perhaps smallish looking bill and overall dark uniform plumage tones May be in the early stages of wing molt (inner primaries and outer secondaries) and one of the photos seems to show pale legs which would indicates a juvenile/immature bird.
