Holy c$@!. Was not expecting this one. Heard on Merlin three separate times. I of course thought it was pulling my leg can't trust it. I went searching for it and there it was disputing real estate with two red-bellied wood peckers. Seen across the street to left side on little path to tge train tracks, was in the dead trees . Black back with a solid red head.white wing patches and white belly unmistakably the same as the ones I have seen down south. Black was solid no laddering/speckaling.
