Détails de l'observation
"Casual Migrant" in Chester Co. PA. Bird was found earlier by BR and AL then relocated by BR, AL, NP, JW. Clearly a spizella sparrow overall brown above with unstreaked pale white/buff brown underparts. The head and face were boldly marked with a dark mustache, wide white malars and white throat. Malars and throat were separated by two verticle brown stripes. Ear coverts were a darkish brown, lore was unstreaked and plain brown. There was a fine dasrk eye stripe extending from behind the eye. The crown was streaked brown with a pale white central crown stripe. The nape was gray and stood out against the brown head and mantle. The rump was brown. Bill a grayish/pink. Separation from Chipping by lack of dark lore, bold face pattern and prescence of brown rump. Separation from Brewer's which is overdue in Pennsylvania by bold facial pattern - Brewer's has very plain grayish-brown face and duller facial markings.
