Heavily cropped distant flight shot - See previous image for habitat.
Détails de l'observation
Almost pure white with a grayish hue to the upper wings. The few brown flecks may indicate that this is a first winter bird. I first found it perched on the top of a power pole just south of Highland Farms. A Raven that may have stolen it's lunch was feeding on a prey item directly below the Snowy Owl and the CORA flew off as I slowly crept forward in my vehicle. I was only able to approach within the distance of one power pole before the Snowy flew south to a berm not far from the grid road. East of the berm was a wary coyote that was looking back at me from a distance, and a Magpie perched in a far clump of bushes. I doubled back to find it, but this time it flew quite far to the north and again perched on a power pole north of Twp Rd. 404.
