‘Ōhi‘a (Metrosideros polymorpha) pollen accumulated on the bill and face.

First bird found quietly foraging among ‘Ōhi‘a along ridge. No vocalizations. Multiple observations of presumably same bird by trapline feeding. Photos taken. Second bird heard singing from inside center of loop trail high in canopy. Did not see.
