Bird singing back enthusiastically after a few seconds of "pip" call playback. Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro. Noise reduction and high pass filter applied
Détails de l'observation
***MEGA*** Continuing first state record! Brilliant yellow kingbird with yellow belly and chest extending up to a white throat, with a thick shorter bill, slightly notched tail, and very little white edging on tail. Incredibly cooperative bird, it perched up in a tree for all to see for quite some time. After everyone present had good looks, some pip calls were played back to attempt to rule out Tropical Kingbird, and the bird responded enthusiastically with its dawn song! ABA #400, Nebraska #323! This bird was first seen in late November and the ID was inconclusive at the time (Tropical/Couch's). It was rediscovered during the North Platte CBC and identified as a Couch's, confirmed today by more observation and audio recording.
