Détails de l'observation
***SECOND COUNTY RECORD*** Outstanding find this morning courtesy of Bob Quick. Bob found it around 10:30, then texted me and asked me to confirm the ID. Immature Purple Gallinule, no doubt about it. Bob was kind enough to return to the park so he could meet me and show me the exact location where he found it. By then, it had moved and was right next to the causeway, just standing out in the open. It foraged bit and slowly worked its way toward the junction with the Observation Trail. It gave lots of chicken-like whines and a few sharp “kik” calls. Swam into a close patch of vegetation shortly after a Coop flew over, where it hunkered down out of view for almost two hours. Noah finally relocated it in the same general area, poking around on the shoreline.
