Détails de l'observation
(45.9455026, -86.2360138) located at Lakeview Park access on the northern coastline of Lake Michigan. Thank you to all the birders who helped get others on this bird. Viewed while facing south from 354 feet away as bird rested on rocky outcropping, cloudy and windy providing less than optimal views. Obvious difference in gull than nearby RBGU. Medium-sized gull with pale head and undersides, darker gray wings with darker black wing tips with slight white edging on outer flight feathers. Longer bright yellow bill with red tip and black sub-terminal line, bright yellow legs standing out much more prevalently than the nearby RBGU, ruling-out RBGU and HEGU. White-rump with black sub-terminal tail band with pale edges. Bird spent majority of the observation period resting and preening.
