Détails de l'observation
Continuing rare bird found by Kevin Louth today and posted on the RBA by Mel. Thanks for the tip Mel. Gray shorebird on the rocks of the outflow channel. Blended in very well. Yellow legs and medium long bill. It was sleeping when I arrived, apparently for a while. It then awakened giving me enough time to photograph it with its bill exposed. Then as I walked, quietly, further around the outfllow structure it unfortunately flew off. No obvious raptor overflight! My theory - it was time to forage before sunset, or continue further north with its ultimate destination Alaska for the summer, or head back to the outflow? Ilya and myself tried to relocate it. No luck. Cdn lifer.
