NOTES: Steady singing. Continued from Cut #10 but now at 15". Better quality--very little or no distortion. Rate of singing slows in last 3-4 min. but picks up again at end. [This is essentially the song of the species, including both types of Regularly Repeated Vocalizations (RRVs; see Smith, W. J. 1969. Displays of Sayornis phoebe (Aves, Tyrannidae). Behaviour 33:283-322). Slightly more than half of the 241 vocalizations represent RRV1s, which typically alternate with RRV2s, but in 19 instances the bird gave two RRV1s together before giving an RRV2, in four it gave three RRV1s together (1:18-1:23, 2:19-2:28, 11:27-11:34, 12:03-12:13) and once it gave four (11:09-11:21). It also gave two RRV2s together at 14:15-14:30 and three together at 13:34-13:57. There is also a single Initially Peaked Vocalization at 2:505. Quality unchanged (1-2) - CAM - 14 April 2005].
