Détails de l'observation
Continuing in the food forest. I found it earlier today on my lunch walk, although I wasn’t able to get good enough views to confirm it then. Extremely skittish, it would fly long distances and disappear when I started to approach from farther away than I would have thought it would even notice me. It generally kept returning to forage in open gravel by the garden shed and wood chip areas at the north end around here (47.5690140, -122.3128305), and I was eventually able to get close enough for decent views. Pale, brown and white streaked sparrow with white eyering, pink bill, and distinctive auricular pattern. Rufous shoulder patch visible a couple times. White outer tail feathers and noticeably larger than nearby SAVS in flight.
