Détails de l'observation
Relocated this bird this morning off the southern tip of Nelson Island. It was very near the shore when I first saw it, but was working its way out near the white marker by the time I tried for photos. Diving duck hanging out with a COGO. "Find the COGO, find the LTDU" was the motto. Initially it was diving frequently and moving in and out of a large flock of buffleheads later it did some preening and stayed on top of the water when others arrived. The bird is quite distinct with a large white patch around the eye and a white collar around the neck. Female in breeding. Plumage. Photos for ID.
