Détails de l'observation
Bird call heard briefly by observer and identified by Merlin app audio AI at the Arboretum of the Royal Botanical Gardens. I also heard the Orange-crowned Warbler in nearby Burlington, ON on April 5, but was told by eBird staff that it was unlikely to be that bird so early in the season. It was suggested that I had probably heard a Junco. NOTE: there were no Juncos observed in the area of the RBG today where I heard the Orange-crowned Warbler. The RBG Arboretum is on the north shore, far western end of Lake Ontario, and is along a bird migratory path. The birds have been arriving weeks early this year, as the Greater Toronto Area (including Hamilton) has had a very early spring in 2024. Furthermore, other birders have recently been reporting the Orange-crowned Warbler in this area, too.
