Détails de l'observation
Sandy colored shorebirds, larger than nearby Killdeer, long winged, short blunt black bill, white supercillium, white steep forehead, black beady eye, contrasting dark crown, tan breast with sharp demarcation like Pectoral, white belly. One bird had black spots/ splotches on breast. Very hard to see as they are well camouflaged with low contrast non-breeding plumage matching the field. All birds close together and moving slowly or sitting still. We didn’t see them on our 1st visit earlier which isn’t surprising with all the glare and heat shimmer. Dave picked them out as we were putting scopes back in the car to give up again. South side of road, west end fields almost straight out from dirt parking loop at the curve by Wescotts Furniture Stripping buildings.
