Détails de l'observation
Five large flocks flew overhead going NW out to sea. Could hear them calling as their flight call is very distinct from Canada geese. I can hear them coming at least a mile away before I see them. Two were very large flocks over double the size of the smaller flocks of 80-200 which I normally see. I counted 180 in the photo and it was not the whole flock nor was it one of the large flocks. There were 3 flocks of this smaller size and two were at least twice the size of the photo which is how I estimated the count. A friend who lives in Petaluma noted a large flock flying overhead last week and mentioned they were late for this time of year.
