Reedy song from a bird perched up about 2m off the ground at the base of a bromeliad. Not seen well during recording, but seemed to be fluttering wings with each song. Apparently the female of the pair, being somewhat smaller and more slender than the male, who was walking around on the forest floor just below during this recording. According to the ranger, this is a female courtship vocalization, and they often perch in bromeliads and flutter their wings into them when giving it. A very soft vocalization.
Détails de l'observation
Not coming to feeder area, but pair found at (-4.48832, -79.12653). Good looks deep in undergrowth as they foraged and interacted. One chased a Rufous-naped that got too close; wild to see an antpitta aerial chase!
