Détails de l'observation
Continuing swan sp. adult pair View from Ladoga park rd. Swans were distant, in front of salt mine, and moving further away. Couldn't quite convince myself about ID either way. Large size and long + thin appearance of neck, and the pointiness where the base of the bill met the eye seemed suggestive of Trumpeter Swan. Curve of the back (with a peak), shape of the bill, and the curviness (rather than a straighter line) where the black met the white on the cheek of the bird reminded me of Tundra Swan. Would love to hear others thoughts on why this is being called Trumpeter. As demonstrated by my poor quality photos, I did not have a very good view.
