Détails de l'observation
Strong winds had washed ice pans into the dam face, with these extending about 150 meters out from the dam with open water on the rest of the lake. The gull was hunting the water right at the edge of the ice pan. It was seen to land on the water once for 4 or 5 seconds. It was observed over two sessions about 40 minutes apart, and photos were taken during the first session. It was virtually impossible to make an identification because of the distance to the bird and the strong winds bouncing the bird around in the air. However photos show field marks.
