Détails de l'observation
Photos, video, tape. First regional record since 2011. A totally remarkable spot by Dan, who glimpsed the bird on the fence at the impounded car corral maybe 100 m away, and I saw it just as it dropped. Dan immediately thought BEWR because of long tail and rusty colors. We watched the area for what seemed like 15 minutes without seeing or hearing it, and no response to taped song or calls. Then, just as I think we were giving up and writing it off to "one that got away". Then Dan heard it call. We hit it again with tape, and Dan spotted it sitting in the open, uncharacteristically cooperative, at the edge of adjacent woods, near levee. It must have moved 100 m across mowed lawn undetected by us. Outstanding looks for perhaps 1 or 2 minutes.
