Détails de l'observation
A large, chunky finch with a very heavy bill and heavy, bright white superciliums. The bird had a dark cap and dark cheek patches, was brown on the back , with double whitish wingbars, and whitish below with heavy streaking on its breast. The bird flashed bright pink under its wings when it flew. The bird was associating with a small flock of robins in a treetop. I noticed it because it was repeatedly making loud, metallic, "squink" type calls. Familiar with this species and their calls from seeing and hearing them annually when in S. Ontario and occasionally in NS. Photos attached showing most of the identifying features.
