Détails de l'observation
Immature female, buffy feather edging to scaly looking rich green upperparts, absence of any darker blue feathers molting into throat area, larger extent grayish-white tip to rectrix 5. Numerous inner primaries freshly replaced. Corrugations visible about basal 25% of bill. First detected on very characteristic call, chattering kinglet like but more prolonged and moving around yard fast. Alighted on feeder, noticeable long wings, generous sized hummingbird with longer and bit decurved bill. Some dull red at base of bill which clearly broad in extent seen head on. Also very fond of feeding at Baja Fairy Duster and Chuparosa bushes planted behind feeders, also at several different Sage species in my yard. Second record for my yard after an immature male of this species in October 2020.
