Détails de l'observation
Continuing, found by M. Ramey, pics TBA. A first record for the 5-county HCAS region, according to my records. Apparently an immature because of the yellowish breast, not sure if this will come out in pics, but it was quite noticeable when viewed through bins. I personally did not see the black armpits or hear the call, but the bill, cap, white-stippled back, and white tail, appeared to rule out any of the golden-plovers. Loosely associating with the Killdeer, the bird was shuttling back and forth between the open short-grass field, and the rocky weedy area below the road coming down to the parking lot, at the far end of the dam. Flushed many times by fishermen, dog-walkers, etc., and kept hanging around, so possibly will stay for a bit as it seems comfortable.
