Détails de l'observation
Originally found earlier by Jim (muchobirdnerd) Muchmore of Muchmoredesign.com behind the Starbucks just North of this location with GREGs. Large White Heron with bulky two-toned bill, small head plume and pale grayish yellow legs. Looking further at the feet of this bird, I noticed that it is missing the left toe-tip and nail on the right foot. Would be the 2nd (I believe) state record of this ‘White Form’ if accepted. **Edit** This bird had a lengthy stay at this location until I found it deceased and in the water but still in good shape on 11/21/2020. I was able to collect the specimen which is now in the care of the Yale Peabody Museum. This could very well be the first specimen of its kind in the Northeast. Ideally, the DNA will be tested for positive ID to form rather than an aberrant bird.
