YBFL on foraging perch, about 3 feet off ground under a tangled canopy of weeds and shrubs.
Détails de l'observation
*Uncommon. Point blank views as it sallied for gnats from very low dense cover in the tangles of knotweed and bamboo behind the 911 tree. Small, round-headed empid with strong yellowish eyering with posterior teardrop. From LEFL by dark yellowish throat - with very little contrast between throat and malar region, green not grey mantle, lack of any white ventrally, and longer bill and PP. Also distinct were the high contrast blackish tertials /primary tips and greenish 'vesting' to sides of upper breast. From all other empids by jizz / structure. Most interesting feature of this bird was the pronounced teardrop to the eyering which was stronger than I've seen in YBFL before and more akin to Western Fly. Peak time for YBFL though.
