NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 21. Bulk reel: 50 a) One Type A song, given naturally. Bird had sung more but I wasn't set up to record. Quality: 2. Level: +10. Then after playback bird came closer and after some delay started singing the Type B song, often with long intervals of silence between songs. Quality: 1-2 to 1. Level: +10. b) 9:45 PM. Now 5-10 min. after bird started to sing after playback of previous part. Type A song. Another owl then gave a bother call close by. Quality: 1-2 to 1. Level: +10. Then some time after playback of the last bit (the birds had probably left) there is more Type A song by perhaps the same bird. At one plac[e] a cracking noise is heard which may have been bill snapping, then after some delay (not saved) bird sings Type A song. Quality: 1-2. Level: +10. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Different song.
