NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 13. Bulk reel: 49 This is a different bird from any recorded before. a) Natural song (Type A). (Note: In distance can be heard the trill or whinny of Glaucidium minutissimum.) Quality: 1-2. Level: +14. 3 3/4". b) Then I played from a field tape the type B song. This bird continued with Type A song but singing it much prolonged. It is given more "quietly" at first but then becomes louder. Quality: 1-2. Level: +14. 7.5". c) After more playback. What is presumably the same bird now sings the type B song quietly and another bird (the female?) sings a "bother type" call, then the type B song one time. After this I couldn't get either bird interested. I had not collected the male, hoping to be able to get the female. Quality: 1-2. Level: +14. Response to playback: Normal song. Response to playback: Different song.
