Détails de l'observation
***very rare in the county away from Earhart (only my second after 3 here 8/23-24/10). One obvious tern picked up from the car, immediately was parked and jumping out to see 2 more. Watched with the scope for close to half an hour as they moved back and forth mostly in front of the island by 128, but occasionally well to the north/left. At one point, they all rose above the tree line but came back down and resumed acting like they had before, so surprised to see they weren't relocated later. Medium-sized Sterna, 2 with complete black caps, one with a white forehead. All with black edged primaries, reddish bills. Very smooth flight (smoother than the video shows). Didn't see (or hear, made out one call over the traffic) anything that suggested another tern. All 3 felt pretty identical in structure and action. Photos/video
