Détails de l'observation
Not having much experience with Collared-Doves, I whipped out my Sibley's guide when I saw a couple doves on the ground at the rest area. I noticed that one dove had darker wings that contrasted with its coverts, whereas the other dove, which was lighter in complexion overall, did not have contrasting wingtips. While I went back to the car for my camera, the birds flew up into a tree. I noticed that one bird had grey undertail coverts and a dark edge around the underside of the tail, while the other bird was more uniformly white underneath. I hope that the attached photos are good enough to either substantiate my identification or conclusively disprove it. Additional photos available.
