**rare in spring; high count, too; 1x1 count; separated from Cliff by darker, more saturated rump patch and the capped appearance, with a dark cap set off by a pale buff face and throat; photos of at least 2 of the birds; very dark pumpkin/ chestnut rump and some rusty color on flanks suggests the possibility of Caribbean fulva (as opposed to pallida) for these birds; ssp. fulva hasn't been documented here previously. The recent atmospheric slingshot from the south could be responsible for such birds appearing far to the north, but I'm not sure these photos document the birds well enough to be sure of subspecies.
