NOTES: Recorded on an Altec 688-A. Notes on original data form: "This hedgehog came out on our lawn this evening, and was a bit noisier than the one taped March 7, 1966, so we had an opportunity to make an improved tape. We also used the better microphone. The night was quiet, as it has to be for a sound so faint as to record -18db when the mic is two inches from the animal. The mic was held in front of the animal's nose as it ambled across the lawn paying no attention to us or our equipment." JN 1Sep2005.
