Détails de l'observation
Main ID based on ‘single call ack’ distinctly similar to Stewart Sounds recorded call and following description. Additionally: bill seems shorter than what is expected on Latham's Snipe, broader loral stripe than expected on Lathams and Pin-tailed Snipe. No flecks present on dark parts of crown as can be found in Pin-tailed snipe and as occurring on previously seen Swinhoe’s pics. Tail had broad white outer band (as seen with S). Latham's Snipe has usually much less white on outer tail. When on ground, wing-tips were slightly shorter or even with tail also indicating Swinhoe’s. Although not an exact identification feature. All above collectively indicating that Gallinago was in high probability a Swinhoe’s Snipe. This observation is also supported by previous occurrences in the Top End of NT being Swinhoe’s Snipe
