Détails de l'observation
Reported by Joseph Hudick and Dan Guenther earlier in the afternoon. Female. Small brown diving duck with petite dark bill. White patches behind bill and forward of eye. On this individual the white patch is divided by a dark line forward of the eye. White spot behind eye. Buffy breast. Flew upriver from south side of bridge, observed swimming and diving in Minnesota waters. Crossed to Wisconsin side and climbed atop rock in river on the north side of the bridge. She settled atop the rock and preened — apparently preparing to roost for the night. Observed from overlook below the bridge on the Minnesota side of the river.
