For the last couple of nights, I've heard an unusual amount of intermittent heavy and extremely hoarse breathing coming from the bushes; I initially chalked it up to Brushtails, or vagabonds... however, I was stunned to discover the true answer; in pursuit of the Moreporks, I stumbled on a very large Frogmouth slowly inflating its throat, taking great big gulps of air with that exact breathing sound I'd been so perplexed by!! I even recorded the sound, so odd was it...
