Détails de l'observation
Photos to be added. Field notes: The bird was sitting higher up on the rock face and not actively foraging at the water's edge like most shorebirds seen at this location. It was early morning, so lighting was poor for photography. The bird stood out as a different build than I would normally see with the SESA at the location. It felt overall bulkier, with a noticeably longer bill. I also noted that it felt more barrel-chested than the SESA I normally see, but that could be a result of puffed up feathers on an early morning. The bill looked decurved, but I had hoped the photos would reveal that detail better, as it was difficult to get a good sense outside of initial impressions. After a few minutes of viewing, the bird walked over the rock face and out of view. Thoughts after reviewing photos: -bill is definitely longer than most SESA I see, but not out of the range of female bills -red is not overly present on the upper scapulars, but there does appear to be a hint when you zoom in or play with contrast. There is definitely a contrast between the upper scapulars and the surrounding feathers -it does appear to have the anchor markings in it's lower scapulars that WESA would have -overall a chunkier bird and sitting higher than SESA, but it could just be fluffed up
