These are the photos I took of a bird at 2:47 pm. It just appeared from where I don't know. It landed on the water and sat a for less than 2 minutes then took off. Discussion of the ID leans toward LBBG. It is a large gull. It has extra darkness around the eye. The tail has a decent amount of white in the rump with some dark pattern. The tail has a dark broad band with thin white fringe at the tip. Upper wings in flight are very dark with black flight feathers.
