Détails de l'observation
I first observed the bird yesterday (8/19). I'm not posting any photos I took yesterday with this checklist, but I did submit a photo with the checklist I put in for yesterday. I strongly suspected this bird was a SNEG after reviewing photos from yesterday, so I returned for closer looks today. Fortunately the bird was close and cooperative. Legs are greenish yellow on back, black on front. Feet bright yellow. Lores also yellow, although maybe not quite as bright yellow as some juvenile SNEGs show. Bill also better for SNEG than LBHE. Upper mandible pretty consistently dark and lower mandible pale in parts. Lacked "bicolored" bill (i.e., darker at tip) that LBHE typically shows. I am pretty confident that this is the same bird I observed yesterday. My photos from yesterday also show same leg/feet color. Bill was harder to see on those photos, but they still show yellow lores. Thanks to Jackson Mesick who weighed in on ID and also thought my photos from yesterday were better for SNEG.
