Détails de l'observation
Continuing flock, foraging in dried-up muddy end of pond. Alternate adult male was observed pursuing a small Green Frog (Lithobates clamitans) by foot across the mud, while the frog squeaked loudly. The blackbird succeeded in catching the frog, and walked around with the frog hanging by its legs before flying over and landing at my feet, but concealed by a bush. Once the blackbird saw me, it flew off, leaving its catch behind. The frog appeared dead, as it was laying on its back, legs splayed, but it eventually flipped over, returned to the water, and swam off.
