Détails de l'observation
Just after sunset a few birds became active in phrag and shrub beside the road at the bridge. 2 Marsh Wrens sang and called also. Another bird was noted giving modulated call notes. Zach Adams did point counts for CMBO all summer and didn't recognize it. I quickly played all the Marsh and Sedge wren calls in the Audubon Birds app, and we all remarked how similar it sounded to Sedge call #2. It called for about 10 minutes, popping up once briefly and giving a few call notes where we could see by shape and behavior it was a wren. The light was so low that no plumage details could be made out. It didn't seem to respond to call playback. As the last light faded the Marsh Wrens moved from the phrag/shrubs out a little ways into the marsh and the other wren stayed put. Calls at 00, 10, and 17s.
