Photo taken of marsh wren as it hops from cattail cover at Kelly Lake Nov 27 2016 C.Blomme field marks shown
Détails de l'observation
Initially while watching swans I heard this red-winged blackbird like tick behind me and eventually saw movement in cattails where I stood motionless and quiet. Bird popped out of cover showing wren like behaviour. Stayed motionless for about an hour waiting for bird to pop out so that I could get a few shots. Eventually I could get some field marks. Red brown cap, white eye stripe, beige front and throat, reddish brown back white distinctive white stripes, uplifted tail. Tick-like call in alarm, moved to interior of dense cattail clumps then crossed stream to other side. last record of species here was in 2003.
