NOTES: (Range Status: Range Extension; Species Sound: Isolated; Sound Delivery Rate: Sporadic; General Climate: Wet; Cover Den: Med; Format: 1/2 TRK MONO; Noise Reduction: Dolby B 1C; Bias: metallic; Equalization Type IV,70US) To -10db. Bird was circling overhead, white, with pointed wings, looking like a large tern, giving this call. This species has been increasing in California, and has been seen uncommonly around Medford, Oregon, 30 miles south this fall and winter. This is my first knowledge of a sighting in the Grant's Pass area. [Not sure this is correctly identified, but if it is, the vocalization is not typical for this species. Quality unchanged (2-3) - CAM - 23 November 2004]. Habitat: Forest, Freshwater, Coniferous Forest, Deciduous Forest, River, Riparian, Second-growth.
