Détails de l'observation
Close estimate based on counting individuals in cellphone photos and knowing that some birds were out of frame. I noticed the flock foraging on the paved area and its edges on the west end of the maintenance area. They would occasionally stir themselves up and mostly fly into the nearby trees, but would then soon come back down to continue foraging. Quite active running around and pecking at things. Males showed varying amounts of rusty mottling in plumage and females appeared more brown overall. Beaks too slender for Cowbirds, no red (male) or streaking (female) for Red-wings, and not big or lengthy enough for Grackles (which were immediately present in area for comparison).
