Détails de l'observation
Spectacular find by Cameron Chevalier! Thanks to him and Keith Burk for getting the word out. Juvenile. Large brown seabird w/ large pointed bill and large head, light brown belly, prominent white patches next to body on underwings, and white patch on upper tail coverts visible on flying bird when it bank or dove. Long wingspan, narrow wings, and pointed tail. We were able to watch it plunge-dive a few times; otherwise it was frequently harassed by surrounding gulls in feeding frenzy. Was mostly seen far out directly south of the Tip but did fly to the east at one point giving closer views.
