The ROGO is the second bird from the right. Compared to SNGO, the rightmost bird, the ROGO is clearly shorter-necked with a stubbier bill and a rounded, rather than wedge-shaped, head.
Détails de l'observation
On our return to our vehicles after scoping the east side I noticed 5 birds flying away from us. Getting them in my bins revealed them to be 3 blue morph SNGO and then two white geese. The higher of the two birds struck me as a bit smaller with smaller and narrower wings. Reviewing my photos confirmed this bird as smaller than the other white goose (SNGO), with a short neck and stubby bill, a rounded head as opposed to the more wedge-shaped head of the neighbouring SNGO. Bill border with face much straighter than on SNGO. Attached photos show clear structural differences in body and bill between this goose and the white SNGO. My first for the park (as well as Harrison’s) and a tough Pelee bird indeed.
