Adult. Remarks: Two species of Serpent Eagle are found in the Andamans - the Andaman Serpent Eagle Spilornis elgini & the Crested Serpent Eagle Spilornis cheela of the endemic Andaman subspecies davisoni. This latter is smaller & lighter than the Crested Serpent Eagle we see on the mainland & the tail bands are very prominent. - SD. Date added to OBI: April 13, 2008.
