Détails de l'observation
Bird flushed from the middle story of trees by the creek, when I started to pish. It flew about 50 feet east of us into a brushy area in front of the willow trees and perched about 10 feet high off the ground, providing nice looks. Small sized hawk with a large headed look, strong white supercilium, brown eye. Whitish area above black bill with yellow cere. Dark malar mark, whitish throat with a dark central stripe. Dark brown upper parts with pale mottling present on the upper coverts, and back. Light colored underparts, with dark brown streaking on the sides of the throat, neck and flanks, lighter spotting on the belly but absent from the central breast area, clean white undertail coverts. Short tail with narrow bands and a dark wider subterminal band. Wings fall short of the tail. PHOTOS TO FOLLOW
